Welcome to this blog, my name is Matthew and as of this introductory post I am a second-year Creative Writing student in York. I took a couple of years out before I started university which allowed me to take some time to work and travel around the country. It was this time that let me visit all the eateries around the country.
I am going to be writing on this blog alongside the website www.picturebritain.co.uk, a website with a wide variety of photography prints of various locations around Britain. They include various famous landscape around the country, like King’s Cross Station and beautiful seasonal prints from around the countryside.
This blog, while it will be run alongside the website, will be mainly talking about one of my main passions. Food. I feel like that’s something that a lot of people, not just from Britain, but from all around the world can relate to. But I am going to be talking about my favourite eateries from all around the country, in relation to the picturebritain website. As someone who personally enjoys food a lot, something I know people can relate to, I have spent time travelling to different places around the country and have had the pleasure of eating at a wide variety of different restaurants, cafés and other eateries. And as such, I thought that I could share some of the places that I’ve been, mixed in with the occasional story I have about the places I have been.
The blog is most likely going to be updated weekly, referring to a different place that I have been around the country and talking about my favourite places to go while there, they will also be longer and more detailed than this post. Finally, why not check out some of the prints available on the website while you’re here. My personal favourite is “The Dark Hedges”.
